PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The AXL USA SRO is our version of a true American classic - an unbeatable combination of world-class components and American assembly.
The SRO Artist uses Lindy Fralin Custom Wound Single Coil Pickups, a mix of Alnico 2 magnets on the treble strings for warmth and a softer attack, and Alnico 5 magnets on the bass strings for punch and brightness. Our "Super- 7 switching" utilizes a push-pull pot to engage the bridge pickup regardless of switch position - adding two more pickup combinations for even more versatile tone shaping. CTS pots are connected by cloth-covered wire, and Orange Drop capacitors give a creamy, classic tone.
We use a true-vintage-style bent-saddle bridge and TonePros Kluson tuning machines for the proper weight and sound just like the instruments from the 1950s. We hand press every fret with some of the highest quality fretwire available; then level and dress them for flawless playing in any register.
Combine all of those parts with a solid alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, a Graphtech Tusq nut, and a finish unlike any other available; all you need to do is plug in and play - it's like having a custom shop model that's been built just for you.
The USA SRO Classic model features all of the above but substitutes AXL Alnico pickups and is offered with standard 5-way switching.
